Crowns and Bridges
Crowns can be used to replace the top part of a tooth when it has become irreparably damaged but the root is still healthy.
Crowns are fabricated over a series of appointments. Your dentist will modify your tooth and take some moulds which are sent to the dental laboratory. Your dentist will also match the colour of your crown to your own teeth to create a natural appearance. Your custom-made crown is created in the dental laboratory using the latest ceramic material and technology. Like metal crowns, cosmetic crowns offer enhanced durability.
A bridge is used to replace missing teeth. It usually involved placing crowns on one, or both of the teeth adjacent to a missing tooth. The crown will have an extra tooth attached to it, which in turn will give you a fixed tooth to replace the one you have lost. Your dentist will need to ensure that the adjacent teeth are strong enough to take the load of an extra tooth.
Other options to replace a missing tooth may include dental implants or dentures.
